Many people are skilled with a special talent. If you too can sing, act, or do any type of entertainment performance then California’s Great America has an opportunity for you. The California’s Great America has exciting offers for theater performers from all ages and ethnicity. The auditions will be held in Santa Clara, California. The casting crew of the Great America Auditions requires talent for performing in the upcoming Entertainment Season 2016. The wide range of theater performances includes not only pop singers and other artists but also the technical staff. Following are the categories required for the theater.

Auditions

Children’s Show Hosts

The casting crew of California’s Great America is looking for children show hosts to host a variety of family shows including Peanuts themed children show. If you want to participate in the auditions then prepare a monologue of 2 minutes. The monologue is required to display your personality, confidence, and comic ability. It is an entertainment show; therefore the monologue should be humorous with a family-oriented script.

Make sure to mention your specialty like singing or dancing. Any host could be asked to dance on stage therefore make sure to wear appropriate clothes and shoes for the auditions.

Musical Theatre and Pop Singers

The California’s Great America has designed interactive karaoke show that also includes musical theatre performances. This pop music themed show will also play a pop song in the show with various hits. To participate in the auditions, you need to prepare at least two up-tempo pop songs. It would be great if the songs are prepared in musical theatre style.

The California’s Great America management will also provide you an accompanist. For music, make sure to bring pre-recorded instrumental tracks without music in a CD or bring proper musical notes on paper. The management has neither recommended Cappella nor will it allow playing cassettes. The pop singers may also be asked to read a brief monologue. The management may also ask them to dance on stage therefore make sure to come in proper dress and shoes.

Dancers

Modern, hip-hop, and jazz dancers are required to perform in the show. The dancers should be energetic and technically trained to perform on different beats including modern, hip-hop, and jazz. High energy is a must for all dancers. The management will teach a combination to the dancers during the auditions. Proper clothing and shoes is compulsory for all dancers to perform with convenience. If you are not busy with another show then try to arrive at the audition time of hosts and singers.

Costume Characters

Do you want to play Snoopy and the Peanuts characters? Then the opportunity is right here. The casting directors are looking for enthusiastic people to play in the Snoopy and the Peanuts. The required height for these characters is from 4’7” to 5’4”. It would be great if you can dance and sing but you can participate even if you are not skilled with dancing and singing.

The audition will include interview and dance performance so make sure to come in appropriate costumes and shoes.

CALL BACKS /2015 Rehires

February 28, Sunday

Venue: Theatre Royale

10 AM

The 2015 employees will be called back for the auditions or rehiring. If you have worked with us before then make sure to leave this date open, even if you have applied for auditioning on other dates.

IMPORTNT INFORMATION

  • Some paperwork will be needed before auditions so make sure to arrive the venue at least 30 minutes before the auditions.
  • You will be auditioned according to the time of your category. Candidates who arrive after the time of their category will not be auditioned.
  • Attend only one date of the auditions. Do not reapply if you have been already auditioned.
  • The auditions procedure will take time. You may need to wait for some time.
  • You must be at least 16 years of age before applying for the characters.

The rehearsals will be conducted at least two to three weeks prior to the show starting dates. The show recording time would be evenings on workdays and full day on weekends. Make sure to confirm your availability before applying for the jobs.

Interviews

Theatre Attendants

If you want to apply for the job of theatre attendant then be prepared for an interview. The casting crew requires theatre attendants for concerts in Redwood Amphitheatre. The theatre opportunities are available for both part-time and full-time jobs.

Theatre and Event Technicians

The casting directors are looking for indoor, outdoor, and concert venue technicians. Special event crews are also required for Halloween Haunt technical supporting and building. Experienced sound operators, follow spot operators, lighting operators, stage positions, and theatrical carpenters are required. The opportunities include full-time and part-time jobs. Make sure to bring at least one page resume when coming to the auditions. Photos are not necessary but it would be great if you attach a photo along with the resume.

Scenic artists and Sculptors

Creative artists are required for Halloween Haunt event. The artists will be given jobs to work in fast-paced deadlines. If you are interested in this job then send your resume as soon as possible to clayton.lawrence@cagreatamerica.com. The resume should also include examples of your work.

Costumers and Dressers

Costumers and dressers are required for a variety of shows. The job responsibilities include designing new costumes and dresses as well as maintaining character costumes. It would be great if you have costume construction experience but the job is open for inexperienced candidates also. The designers will also design and create props for Halloween Haunt event. Seasonal part-time and full-time jobs are available for this post. If you are interested in this job then make sure to be on the venue on the given time. Bring at least one page resume along with experience examples, if any.

Stage Managers and Supervisors
